UPDATE 4-16-25:  Nelson's lab recheck was perfect as was his re-check chest x-ray.  He weighed 18#.  His Vet recommended keeping him on a low-fat diet due to his past high liver and pancreatic levels. 

UPDATE 4-9-25: Nelson's Cushing's test was negative (yay).  He has gained a couple more pounds and now weighs 18#, not far from a good weight.

UPDATE 3-25-25:  Nelson had a very necessary dental and lost many rotten teeth.  He is so much happier and doesn't indicate that he is in pain any longer.  We will re-check his lab work in a few more weeks. He only weighed 14 pounds upon arrival and has gained 2 necessary pounds.  He still could use a little more meat on his bones.  Structurally, his spine/hips are in great shape for his age (x-rays and activity level verified this).  He is completely deaf. 

3-3-25: NELSON is a delightful old man who was dumped off at an animal shelter when his owner had a life-threatening medical crisis.  He has been neglected for many years, and while he is a happy boy, we will be addressing all necessary care that will help him be more comfortable in his senior life.  HE DID NOT DESERVE THIS....but he is safe now.
